More Information about Cherry Hall

More about the house

Cherry Hall is typical Cumbrian country cottage. Probably built as farm workers accomodation, the cottage retains many features from
its past such as exposed beams and the original wooden staircase. The cottage is situated on the Dales Way bridle path, but with easy access from the near by hamlet of Millthrop.

The name of the cottage is presumably derived from the wild cherry trees growing in the lane, though the "Hall" part is less obvious given the size of the property, which is definitely more cottage scale than hall.

Two bedrooms upstairs with double beds, and a bunkbed room downstairs suitable for kids.

The kitchen is small but very comfortable. The kitchen table has room for seating 4 adults together.Dishwasher, washing machine /dryer and cuboard for walking stuff.

Bathroom with bath/shower. Hot water on demand from gas central heater.

The surroundings

The private garden has fine views over the Howgills and Sedbergh. It is mostly growing wildflowers, with a fine Damson producer
in amongst the beech and ash hedge. There is an old but weather-proof hen house which can be used for temporary storage, pets etc, and a log
store to fuel the wood burner.

Direct access to the fell, and many miles of walking straight from the door.
